Paul Langerhans, German Pathologist and Physiologist

Paul Langerhans (1847-1888) was a German pathologist, physiologist, and biologist who discovered the cells of the pancreas that secrete insulin, named after him as the islets of Langerhans. Langerhans discovered these cells in 1869.
