Editorial use only . Daemonelix burrows discovered in the late 19th century at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument. Standing next to it is the neuroanatomist Frederick C. Kenyon. Daemonelix burrows were dug by Palaeocastor ('prehistoric beaver'). Palaeocastor is an extinct genus of beavers that lived in the North American Badlands during the late Oligocene period.
