Action of mineral salts and vitamins on the transmission of the nerve impulse.. Magnesium (Mg) has an antagonist action to the one of calcium, and notably inhibit the hyperexcitability of the neurons. Calcium and magnesium also participate to numerous functions of the cell.. Vitamines B and C are essential to the synthesis of neurotransmitters (at the level of the cell body or synaptic button).
