ALESSANDRO Magno (20 or 21 July 356 BC - 10 or 11 June 323 BC), military and king of Macedonia of the Argeadi dynasty starting from 336 BC, succeeding his father Philip II. Endowed with unparalleled military and diplomatic intelligence, courage and charisma, in just 12 years he succeeded in conquering the immense territory of the Persian Empire. "Alesander Magnus Imperator", bas-relief decoration from the band depicting famous characters of antiquity and mythological themes, inspired by the medals of the Roman era, carved on the base of the facade of the basilica of the Certosa di Pavia, a typical example of Lombard Renaissance architecture of the fifteenth century.
