JOAO DE CASTILHO (14701552). CASTILIAN ARCHITECT.. Portugal. Lisbon. Monastery of the Hieronymites. King Manuel I commissioned its construction to commemorate the return of Vasco da Gama from India. It was designed in the Manueline style by Juan del Castillo (1470-1552). Architectural detail of the exterior of the building, with the dome of the church. 16th century.
