Uniforms for Burlington Arcade Beadles . The two Beadles who , each day at 5.30 pm , ring the 100 year old bell for closing time in the famous Burlington Arcade , have just received new uniforms which they will wear during the summer . Made by Sam Fisher , a tailor in the Arcade , using old prints for guidance , they consist of black doeskin frock coat , yellow , double - breasted waistcoat and pure silk top hat . Photo shows ; The two Beadles wearing their new uniforms for the first time walking in the Burlington Arcade . They are , ( left ) Mr Frank Clark of Fulham and Chief Beadle , Robert Baker of Stockwell . 29 May 1952.
