EMPEROR TITO

TITO Flavio Cesare Vespasiano Augusto (30 December 39 - 13 September 81), Roman emperor belonging to the Flavian dynasty; after a series of military successes in Gaul, the office of quaestor in Rome and new successes in the campaign of Judea alongside his father Vespasian, he reigned for little more than two years from 79 to his death. "Divus Titus Vesp. Aug.", bas-relief decoration from the band depicting famous characters of antiquity and mythological themes, inspired by the medals of the Roman era, carved on the base of the facade of the Basilica of the Certosa di Pavia, a typical example of 15th century Lombard Renaissance architecture.
