Eadweard Muybridge

Eadweard James Muybridge (1830-1904), British-American photographer. Muybridge pioneered the use of high-speed photography and employed novel techniques to view animal and human locomotion. He began his work on high-speed photography when he was commissioned to discover whether galloping horses have all of their feet off the ground at certain times. He proved that they did.
