Florence and Sir Samuel White Baker (1821-1893), an English explorer. In March 1861 he started upon his first tour of exploration in central Africa. He was the first European to sight Lake Albert Nyanza, now Lake Mobutu Sese Seko in Central Africa and to discover that the river Nile flowed through it.
