A knight of the 13th century in his Military Habit. A crusader, kneeling on one knee, with hands extended. The knight wears a round coif and a hauberk and chaussons of mall, ailettes in the form of a cross, a sleeveless surcoat also adorned with crosses, pattees, chausses (with metal bosses) not enveloping the leg but laced behind over the calf, and a plain spur. His sword is buckled over the surcoat, and his lance has a pennon with three crosses. A helm below. From the Westminster Psalter, Royal MS 2 A XXII, f. 220r.
