Late-Saxon strap end, 9th century. The solid silver base has a sunken field covering most of the surfaces, into which is inlaid a sheet-gold panel decorated with symmetrical plant-scroll ornament in twisted filigree wire, punctuated by granules in gold. Dimensions: length: 5.7 cm.
