The first regular micro wave radio telephone service in the world, between the Vatican City and Castel Gandolfo, the Pope's summer residence, was inaugurated by the Pope, in the presence of Senatore Marconi, who made the presentation of the apparatus and installation to the Pope. The ceremony was broadcast.
