Charles Julius Guiteau (1841-1882) American lawyer known for the assassination of the United States President James A. Garfield on July 2, 1881, shoting him at the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station in Washington D.C. Guiteau was sentenced to death and hanged five months later.
