Rome (Italy), 05/10/1940. Telegrams from Pius XII to the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, the King of Belgium and the Queen of the Netherlands. This historic document was written personally by Pius XII, on his little white typewriter, in the evening of! May 10, 1940. He later corrected it by hand. The examination of the variations that he introduced in the telegram to the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg demonstrates how carefully the Pope tried to make his writings clearer and more personal, and with what neat and parsimonious handwriting he made the corrections.
