Faience Sistrum Inscribed with the Name of Ptolemy I. Dimensions: H. 26.7 cm (10 1/2 in.); W. 7.5 cm (2 15/16 in.); D. 3.7 cm (1 7/16 in.). Date: 305-282 B.C.. Sistra were musical instruments associated especially with the cult of great goddesses, including Hathor, Isis, Bastet, and others. Faience examples bearing a royal name appear to have been temple offerings.
