Josephine Baker, American Entertainer

Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 - April 12, 1975) was an African-American singer; first to integrate an American concert hall, actress; first black woman to star in a major motion picture, and dancer with a career spanning over five decades. She became a citizen of France in 1937, assisting the French Resistance during WWII and receiving the Croix de guerre. No photographer credited, undated (cropped and cleaned).
