Next to him is his wife Elinore and Mr. Theo Defrene, A Belgium who Travelled across the channel with them...The amphibious jeep "Half-Safe" which was brought ashore from the Goodwins, In the English channel today was pulled up the beach onto the roadway at Walmer, Kent, by lifeboat winch. After minor adjustments the jeep will motor to Dover for its owners, Mr and Mrs Fredrick Carlin, to obtain customs clearance, etc. They will then drive to London. Australian born Mr. Carlin and his American wife, Elinore. Are Honeymooning in the jeep, which was crossing the channel from France when it was seen to be near the centre of the Goodwins.
