It is expected to be completed by next May.The present Houses of Parliament stand on the site of the old Palace of Westminster, named in the reign of Edward the Confessor and occupied by his successors down to Henry VIII.The "Houses" are still nominally a Royal palace, and bear the name "Palace of Westminster" as an alternative title.Style of the buildings, which were completed in the early 19th century,, is late-Gothic.
