ATELIER OF THE VIENNA MORALIZED BIBLES. Detail of historiated initial of the Trinity. Psalter (the 'Suneson Psalter'), for Danish use, with calendar, prayers and litany. France, Central (Paris); 2nd or 3rd quarter of the 13th century. The text is profusely ornamented with illuminated initial letters and finials; a miniature stands at the beginning of the Psalms, and this is preceded by eight leaves containing miniatures of scenes from the Life of Christ. In the calendar have been entered obits of royal and other personages of Scandinavian origin. Source: Egerton 2652 f.169. Language: Latin.
