Mashrabiyya Screen. Dimensions: Screen a: H. 72 in. (182.9 cm) W. 36 in. (91.4 cm) D. 2 in. (5.1 cm) Screen b: H. 72 in. (182.9 cm) W. 54 in. (137.2 cm) D. 2 in. (5.1 cm). Date: 15th-16th century. Mashrabiyya, or wooden window screens, usually have small windows from which the onlooker can see passersby without being seen or conduct a conversation with those outside. In these large mashrabiyya screen panels an example of such windows can be seen taking a horseshoe or curved arch shape.
