This idol, Kimbo, was worshipped by Solomon Islanders in cannibal days as a god of war.It was brought to Sydney today by Pastor Kata Ragoso, president of Western Solomons Seventh Day Adventist Mission and chief of the Marovo tribe, which saved 200 Allied airmen during the war.Pastor Ragoso, who is on his way home, arrived in Sydney today in the Oronsay, after attending a conference of his church in San Francisco.He is in charge of 4000 parishoners, 56 schools and two hospitals.
