MASTER G. A.. Composite capital with measurements. Artist: Master G.A. (Italian, active ca. 1535). Dimensions: Sheet: 8 13/16 x 5 11/16 in. (22.4 x 14.5 cm) Mount: 10 11/16 x 6 7/16 in. (27.2 x 16.3 cm). Date: ca. 1537. Published as part of Antonio Lafreri's Speculum Romanae Magnificentiae (The Mirror of Roman Magnificence). This print comes from a scrapbook of 3 volumes with inlaid engraved and etched plates. It is likely that individuals who purchased the prints from Lafreri made their own selections and had them bound.
