Audie Leon Murphy and Gilbert Roland in The Wild and the Innocent, a 1959 American CinemaScope Western film. Audie Leon Murphy (20 June 1925 - 28 May 1971) was an American soldier, actor, songwriter, and rancher. He was one of the most decorated American combat soldiers of World War II. Gilbert Roland (born Luis Antonio Damaso de Alonso, December 11, 1905 - May 15, 1994) was a Mexican-born American film and television actor whose career spanned seven decades from the 1920s until the 1980s.
